Vast horizons and nature were my constant companions as a child on a farm in Idaho. My imagination provided me with everything else. I paint both realistic and abstract landscapes in a desire to recapture the beauty and sometime the loneliness.
Our stories are sacred to us. I choose to tell my stories on canvas. Paintings will be here long after the current technology is not.
Knowing that we do not know is uniquely human. Visually grappling with this conundrum is the basis for most of my painting. I use metaphoric symbols to do battle between reality and story. Water represents reality. Threads and, or fabric represent story. In our not knowing, we use story to convince others that we do know.
